Malbec

Rich, dark and juicy…these are the hallmarks of a great Malbec. It is also the perfect descriptor for the Malbec of James Cole Winery. A late ripening grape that requires even more hang time than Cabernet Sauvignon, the Malbec we produce is farmed from a small 2 acre vineyard located about 1 mile due west from our own estate, the vineyard is comprised of rocky/gravelly soil which absorbs and retains heat from the sun. These unique soils from this hot site continue to ripen the rich Malbec grapes even after the sun goes down. The result is a uniquely intense, complex and superbly balanced wine.
