We have been fortunate now for a couple of years to source this wonderful Malbec from a small 5-acre parcel on the valley floor where the site sits on a gravelly bed / alluvial fan type soils that drain rapidly and lead to rich concentrated grapes.  The warm site lends to increased “hang time” for the grapes in order to develop full maturity and distinction. Malbec in particular needs extra “hang time” even after sugar levels indicate ripeness, because of this our Malbec becomes softer with a plusher texture and riper tannins that lead to juicy fruit notes and violet aromas.

Our 2007 Malbec is ladened with incredible aromas of boysenberry, coconut, ground cumin, smoked apple wood, orange peel, black pepper, nutmeg, leather and white chocolate.  This truly aromatic wine is then complemented with incredible dense flavors of blackberry, Italian plums, lavender, allspice and mocha.  With a broad, expansive attack, deep mid-palate, beautiful fruit purity, richness and texture this elegant and powerful wine will age gracefully for the next 5-10 years.
