Asian pear and Fuji apple dominate on the nose upfront, cedar, butterscotch, and vanilla complement in the background with hints of cardamom and coconut flake. This vintage spent 2 months in stainless steel before bottling to accentuate the freshness of a great vintage with cooler than normal conditions allowing for longer hang time for flavor development, the steely and mineral flavors linger on the finish.
Ripe black and blue fruits of berry intertwine with dark chocolate, violet, rosemary, garam masala, caramel, and cedar notes that dominate up front and transition to vanilla, green tea and white pepper with licorice and coffee bean on the finish. Bold, silky and firm tannins melt across the palate with a very broad mid-palate that leads to a smooth, lingering finish. This wine should age well over the next 5-10 years.
