Our Il Mostro (The Monster) red wine is named for the unusually thick and twisted Petite Sirah and Zinfandel vines that have stood strong and proud for the last 100 to 125 years from where these grapes are sourced. Because of the lack of interference in the way they are planted, they’ve taken on a naturally sculpted form resembling gnarled monsters. Their deep-reaching, dry-farmed root structure encourages an intense diversity of flavor and character. The resilience of these extremely low yielding vines are believed to be among the oldest producing vineyards in the world.

2020 Il Mostro showcases an indulgent refined richness that comes from the old vines, where bramble berries, juicy cherries, and raspberries intertwine with hints of milk chocolate, caramel, and black pepper. Evoking a Claret-style elegance, it offers a serious, yet delicious profile that screams to be paired up with the distinctive flavor of exceptional wood-fired pizza.
