Produced from mature vines on our estate, we performed a row by row selection and picked for flavors at the peak of ripeness. From there, the whole freshly-destemmed berries were pumped directly into new French Oak barrels whose heads had been removed. By fermenting directly in the new French Oak barrels, we are able to impart an added silkiness to the tannins and a rounder, more lush mouthfeel to the wine.


The aromatics are vivid and bright with a complex bounty of anise seed, earth, milk chocolate, hints of caramel, vanilla and cedar that carry through to the palate. This wine continues to please and unfold with brawny flavors of leather and dry spice rub. The key to this wine is the textural intensity, with fine density and an incredible complex mid-palate, followed by impeccable integration and a finish that continues to please for a gracious amount of time.
