As with all of our proprietary wines, each bottle has a deep and personal meaning for us. Mud's Kitchen is named after James' grandmother, Margaret 'Mud' Madu, and her farmhouse kitchen where he grew up learning about flavors and life's great lessons. We certainly think that's something to raise a glass to!

Sourced from Clone #7 Cabernet Sauvignon from our estate, the grapes also give us an intense soft lushness that we really desire in our wines. With Mud's Kitchen, we hoped to showcase this wonderful clone and the intense muscular core and long expressive finish it gives us.

Dark, brooding, and lusciously beautiful with a core of spicy anise, espresso cream, blackberry compote with savory notes of wild sage, black currant, licorice root, and densely rich black currant and plum flavors bursting forward. Beautifully balanced with firm yet supple tannins and mouthwatering acidity that leads to a lingering finish that goes on and on. Like all Mud’s Kitchen releases, the power is obvious but there are sleek elegance and seductiveness that makes this vintage enjoyable now while still able to cellar comfortably through 2040.
