'Suede' started as the vision of our talented winemaker, Bertus van Zyl. For many years, he roamed the vineyards, walking row by row learning the distinct flavor profile of each vine so that we could capitalize on vineyard diversity and pick each row when flavors and tannins reached optimal maturity. This passion encouraged us to push further and explore a new variety of maceration techniques, cooperages, and aging lengths.

This intense focus resulted in a new wine with exceptional texture, structure, and mouthfeel which preserved the primary aromas and purity of flavors that Bertus first noticed in the vineyards. With 'Suede' we patiently age the wine for 20 months in barrel, gifting us an extended range of flavors that hit notes we otherwise could never reach.
