Our Il Mostro (The Monster) red wine is named for the unusually thick and twisted Petite Sirah and Zinfandel vines that have stood strong and proud for the last 100 to 125 years from where these grapes are sourced. Because of the lack of interference in the way they are planted, they’ve taken on a naturally sculpted form resembling gnarled monsters. Their deep-reaching, dry-farmed root structure encourages an intense diversity of flavor and character. The resilience of these extremely low yielding vines are believed to be among the oldest producing vineyards in the world.

Enticing aromas of raspberry compote, fresh roses and a whisper of white pepper rise from the glass, layered with subtle cedar spice. On the palate, lush boysenberry and dark raspberry unfold alongside touches of vanilla and cocoa. A supple texture, juicy ripeness and smooth, velvety tannins create a harmonious balance, leading into a long, lingering finish that is both vibrant and refined.
